How do you choose just a few people to highlight for Comcast’s new website, Houston’s Voice? So many people, so little time.
Before becoming co-owner and executive chef of four of Houston’s most acclaimed restaurants (Backstreet Café, Hugo’s, Caracol and Xochi) and winner Best Chef: Southwest at the prestigious 2017 James Beard Foundation Awards (finalist the previous six years) and author of two cookbooks and written up in national travel guides and magazines, Hugo, as he claims in this intimate portrait, was and is “just a cook”.
